A note from the company.

We here at Wilde Shamrock Touring Theatre are very excited about the 2011 Winter tour. We had a lot of fun in the rehearsals for this coming tour as well as getting through the mammoth task of producing four shows in just four weeks. We hope the enjoyment that we experienced throughout the process of creating the productions is transferred to each and every audience member on this tour. These shows were created in the rehearsal room and are bound by the effort of four actors enjoying their craft. We wish the company the very best of luck on the nine week tour and look forward to all the feedback along the way.......

Rehearsals - Final Week.

The final week of rehearsals have drawn to a close. The actors spent the week putting the final touches to the four shows this week. We are now proud to announce four completed shows for the 2011 tour. Divided Ireland and The life and Times of William Shakespeare are designed for the adult audiences. A brief history of Ireland is aimed at the younger fans and finally the Wilde Shamrock actors have put together a two hour music show with a very eclectic mix of songs which is suitable for all ages.

Footage from a number of World cup finals of Charlie ball.

Rehearsals - Week three.

Another excellent week in the rehearsal room. The cast began the week with a performance of the Shakespeare production before rehearsals for Divided Ireland began. Divided Ireland features some wonderful traditional Irish songs, a conversation in the native language along with some very enjoyable dramatic scenes. We wish the cast all the best in the performance tomorrow and hope the final week of rehearsals isn't too hectic.

Charles Monkey Bio and headshot.

Charles Monkey is delighted to join the cast of the 2011 WSTT tour. Charles came to Dublin in 2005 to pursue a career in the theatre. He has also worked as a professional goalkeeper. This is his first major theatre tour and he is very much looking forward to getting on the road and seeing Germany, Switzerland and Denmark. When asked if he was nervous about the tour, he remarked, ''I was slightly apprehensive of life on the road. Before I entered the rehearsal room I had doubts about my ability as a performer. Now I understand that destiny has brought me to this point and I will strive to realise each and every ambition born in my heart and bred in my mind. Every actor will tell you that at certain points in their career they have doubted their ability, perhaps questioned the legitimacy of his or her place in the profession. But these doubts evaporate like puddles in the morning sun when I step onto a stage and feel the rush of adrenalin that accompanies a live performance. I give myself to the audience and they love me for that.'' Charles Monkey has arrived.

Official 2010 World Cup ( Coles )

Rehearsals - Week two.

Another fantastic week of rehearsals from the cast. The Shakespeare show is now almost ready for a work in progress performance. The cast will perform tomorrow afternoon for a group of international foreign language students. The beginning of the week was spent blocking the rest of the script as well as working on a few new songs. The cast have already invented a new warm up and wind down rehearsal game. ( It should be pointed out that the 2010 tour saw the invention of a number of games and subsequent tour championships and World cups. The most notable game was Coles; a sport of nerves, skill and concentration. The official 2010 video will be uploaded this week which contains footage from three World cups.
There were also a number of other championships. The most notable being football tennis, beer mat flipping chess. [ Disclaimer : Wilde Shamrock invented none of these sports ]
Week two saw the invention of Green Bottle Knock Down. This game is pretty self explanatory. Cast members must use a bean bag to knock a green bottle from a table. Distraction tactics are frowned upon but not banned. The cast participate before and after rehearsals. The scores are being recorded with the rehearsal champion being announced on Friday, September 30th  at 17:00.
The cast had a full costume run on Friday afternoon and the show is looking very good with all cast members looking forward to the performance tomorrow.
The end of the week also saw the cast practicing a number of group songs and we can say that this years tour has a very eclectic and varied mix of songs which will accommodate all tastes.

Johnny No mates on Twitter

In the hectic world of twitter the Wilde Shamrock Touring Theatre is currently a lonely account with just one friend. Help us be popular. Search for 'Wildeshamrock'.

Vincent and Maeve tackle the script as Aidan takes a five minute break.

Rehearsals - Week one.

A wonderful start to the 2011 Autumn tour. Vincent, Aidan and Maeve met in Dublin on Monday to begin rehearsals with fellow cast member Elijah arriving from Australia on Thursday to complete the ensemble.
The beginning of the week saw the cast getting stuck into the large repertoire of songs needed for this years tour. There is already an eclectic mix of music to suit everyone.
Towards the end we got stuck into the Shakespeare play. This is going to be an energetic, fast paced production with quite a few laughs along the way. Prepare to meet William Shakespeare and his family aswell as scenes from some of his most memorable productions.
As week one draws to a close the actors have earned a weekend of relaxation. There has not been any mention yet of the 2011 Coles world championships but all players certainly look in good shape for the tournament. We will be posting more info on this sport of kings towards the end of the rehearsal period.
